PEI’s
Job Analysis Studies meet professional standards and provide the
framework for an agency to defend its employee selection and other
related employment practices should legal challenges arise.
AGENCY-SPECIFIC
JOB ANALYSIS STUDIES
Job
Analysis is the legally recognized method by which employers can
ensure a valid/defensible definition and description of a job.
Job Analysis is the process of identifying essential job tasks
and the essential knowledge, skills, abilities, personal characteristics
and physical abilities that are essential for performing these
tasks successfully.
A
thorough, well-documented Job Analysis enables an organization
to defend its employee selection and other related employment
practices should legal challenges arise. In addition, a Job Analysis
provides the basis for development of performance appraisal systems
and standards, as well as other objectives such as the development
of valid and defensible new hire training programs.
Conducting
a thorough, well-documented, defensible Job Analysis Study has
typically been a very time-consuming and expensive undertaking.
PEI, through its extensive knowledge and experience within public
safety communications, has streamlined the process and developed
materials and procedures which provide an agency with a state-of-the-art
Job Analysis Study at a fraction of the traditional cost.

and prerequisite KSAOs to various selection procedures.
This serves to assist the agency in selection planning.
Each KSAO is linked to various selection procedures which
may be used in the selection process.

skills and abilities comprising the content domain for training
criteria. The Training Report assists the agency in ensuring
